In unprecedented times and an ambiguous year, the board of Chords&Co. 2020-21 had its beliefs and ambitions in place- to bring music to the forefront and create space for all to explore, create and more. Together, they try to work to help young musicians grow and by giving them a platform to learn and take their talent to a new level. Meet the team!
Saumit Paul
Leading the team as President, Saumit has always had big plans for Chords & Co. Never letting small obstacles hinder his vision of making Manipal more musical, he never stops encouraging the club to think of new ways to engage students musically and creatively. In addition to being a great leader, he is a vocalist, producer and guitarist and a passionate advocate for releasing original music. He has performed extensively in and around Manipal and has also released his music, collaborating with other artists from Manipal.
Manikya Sahai
Manikya is undoubtedly one of the most talented and helpful guys out there. You will find him intimidating at first, owing to his six-foot-something structure, but he is one of the nicest people to talk to and work with. He has performed in and around Manipal as the bassist of a local band. His musical experience, though, is not limited to one instrument. A man who works hard and parties hard, Manikya knows how to make sure work gets done on time. He is loved by all and is the ideal Vice President.
Ashni Arun
One of the kindest people in our club, Ashni, is someone you can go to with any problems, no matter how big or small. When faced with a challenge, her level headed and calm approach makes her one of the best leaders in the club. With a melodious voice and a firm hand, she has played a pivotal role in guiding the club towards its vision. Although she tries to remind us that she can be strict and that we should be scared of her, anyone who has spent any time around her knows she’s a complete sweetheart. An absolute favourite, Ashni is the perfect GenSec.
Vani Gupta
Vani lives in a world of zen. She is ever calm and composed, and a pro at handling the club’s finances. She is creative and always has a solution up her sleeve. She has an eye for detail and the patience to account for every detail. That and her witty comments make her the perfect fit for Treasurer!
Prachi Prasad
Prachi (“PR” achi) is one of the most approachable people out there. We have had some great collaborations owing to her creativity and drive. Her coordination and organisational skills are exceptional, which makes her so good at what she does as PR head. As most can say, she is the perfect fit for the craziness that we call Chords & Co.
Dharun Roy
In addition to being a fantastic photographer, Dharun is one of the most reliable members of our club. Professional, determined and dedicated, Dharun is impeccable at handling crises. If you come up with some work, you will never go wrong by trusting him to get it done. His excellent organisation skills, equipped with creative conflict resolution ideas, make him a fantastic leader HR head.
Sreyash Rai
Sreyash is an essential member of the club. His smile and laughter can diffuse any situation. One of the nicest guys out there with an incredible work ethic, he has co-headed the HR department flawlessly. His musicality and knowledge of percussion knows no end. Be sure that Sreyash can make any surface his instrument, and he will nail the rhythm.
Vratin Srivastava
A talented guitarist, Vratin’s close attention to detail and holistic approach to music makes him a perfect head of the Technical and Performance department at Chords & Co. His sense of tone, musicality and dedication to quality content makes him invaluable to the Technical and Performance department that he co-heads alongside Kabiir. Vratin is constantly exploring and pushing his fellow members to learn and understand the technicalities and artistry of music!
Kabiir Kohli
Kabiir is one half of the duo heading the Technical and Performance department. He is the one who gets all the logistics taken care of for performance, and his organisational skills are unparalleled. An absolute professional; no detail slips past him. He compliments Vratin’s creative side well and is one of the most fun-loving people around!
Jishnu Jayachandran
A perfectionist and the king of aesthetics, you will probably never meet anyone as passionate about fonts as Jishnu. Quintessential in the upgrade of our club’s design sense, Jishnu is a maestro for delivering quality content. His dedication to improving the club and his grit to bring out the best has been a game-changer for Chords&Co. packed alongside his humour, Jishnu is a delight up until you dislike Helvetica. He is a pillar in the form of a Social Media head.
Rasika Murali
A talented vocalist, keyboardist and writer, Rasika’s creative talents know no bounds. Her creative ideas for our social media posts and blog keep the club up and thriving with fresh content. Finding a way to add an edgy or corny line makes her a great fit to handle content and writing within Social Media. No matter if it’s day or night, you can always approach her for absolutely anything at all. Unless you’re all out of coffee, she will be the kindest soul you ever met.
Jahnavi Ramaswamy
In addition to being one of the most creative and efficient members of the social media department, Jahnavi is also an incredible vocalist. She is one of the most supportive board members out there who is always ready to help. Her attention to minute details and her drive for perfection keeps all the MC and WC members on their feet. She makes it a point to strike a balance between enjoyment and getting work done, which has been one reason the Social Media department has been able to function as well as they do.
Ananya Devarakonda
One of the kindest and most soft-spoken members of the club, Ananya is always ready to help, no matter what. Her sweet demeanour and expansive design-centred knowledge make her approachable, making her the perfect fit for Social Media. She is a talented pianist and loves to incorporate her love for music into the work that we do as a club. When in doubt, you can always approach her without hesitation.
