In unprecedented times and an ambiguous year, the board of Chords & Co. 2021-22 had its beliefs and ambitions in place- to bring music to the forefront and create space for all to explore, create and more. Together, they try to work to help young musicians grow and by giving them a platform to learn and take their talent to a new level. Meet the team!
Liza
President | (she/her)
Liza is the epitome of a musical mind. Be it writing or playing any instrument, her work always reflects her adoration for music. Having been a member of Chords & Co. throughout her time in Manipal, she thoroughly understands the club’s inner workings. Approachable and charming, Liza always keeps the best interest of her peers in mind. PSA: Just don’t mess around and call her ‘Leesa’. Seriously.
Srikrishnan
Vice President | (he/him)
When it comes to someone who knows what’s the right thing to do with the right approach, Srikrishnan is the person to rely on. Calm in disputes and fierce in taking action, he’s respected by his peers and will implement ideas in ways beyond imagination. He has a wide range of interests, from Carnatic music to Excel Sheets. He also loves pretending to be Batman, so that’s something.
Alex
General Secretary | (they/them)
Apart from being an outstanding guitarist and teacher, Alex is one of the most approachable and kindest members of Chords & Co. From their ridiculously good sense of humour to their professionalism, Alex has the right amount of balance that makes them a pleasure to work with. One can easily recognise them by the ever-changing colour of their hair. Also, the only thing they love more than music is dogs.
Rahul
Treasurer | (he/him)
In heated circumstances, our treasurer always stays level-headed. Diplomatic, detail-oriented and perceptive, Rahul brings out numerous thoughtful ideas. He has been instrumental in the Finance & PR departments. Rahul has also actively involved himself with the club’s flagship events. Calculatively chaotic would be the perfect phrase to describe him. His personality is exhibited by his words – ‘One day I’ll go to the mountains and won’t come back.’Same Rahul, same.
Graphic Design and Social Media
Aaditya

Aaditya’s guitar skills are as introverted as himself. His keen eye for detail and his aesthetic sense are complemented by his extensive knowledge of design software. His helpfulness and pleasant demeanour make him a valuable addition to the team. He usually doesn’t lose his cool, but don’t try to get on his bad books by not aligning the text with the image.
Soham

Consistent and dependable, Soham’s creative output towards the department, and any project the club undertakes, is impeccable. His artistic skills and work efficiency are significant assets for the club. History interests him as music does, and being a cultural enthusiast helps him have a broader perspective about things. A Formula 1 enthusiast, doodling is his therapy, and so is music.

Ashwath

Organised, calm and collected, Ashwath comes with a game plan. His work ethic might intimidate you at first, but you’re bound to laugh with him once you get to know our ketchup enthusiast. Ashwath has come a long way in Chords & Co. and does every bit of work with enthusiasm – be it making Teams and delegating work or writing about music. Ashwath is approachable and can hold a conversation well. Even more so, if you’re willing to talk to him about Golf or F1.
Meghna

The shortest board member with the longest hair, Meghna has an eye for detail and a love for Pop and Indie music. Outgoing, spontaneous and well-organised, she is the one to go to in times of crisis, be it work-related or existential. Her strong work ethic and composure make her the perfect pick for Content and Social Media Head. Also, if you want to make her happy, BrightWin is the way to go.

Niharika

Also known as Nihahaha, Niharika bears the responsibility of maintaining the smooth functioning of the club and its members on her shoulders. Niharika’s highly efficient management skills and a meticulous eye towards the functioning of the club are appreciable. She also may or may not burn down the kitchen while cooking, but her incredible work ethic towards the club makes up for that.
Technical and Performance Department
Tejas

Tejas brings a warm sense of understanding and exposure to the table. His experience as a singer/songwriter and performer, coupled with his knowledge of music makes him an invaluable part of the Technical and Performance Department. His friendly personality, coupled with his confusing introductions (hi ___, I’m Tejas :3), make him a joy to be around.
Aakash

Co-heading the Technical and Performance Department, Aakash has a keen ear for good production and is always on the hunt for new sounds. No details slip past his calm yet stern demeanour. He is also known as the man with the funniest Google Meet background. He constantly explores new ideas and pushes his fellow members to achieve their potential.
Public Relations

Aditya is calm and composed, which turns into an added skill for PR when handling negotiations and crises. Despite his momentary memory loss on the basics of MoUs during board interviews, he has managed to represent Chords & Co. efficiently. His ever-positive smile and attitude are visible in the way he has successfully created a stress-free environment for the rest of the members to bond, learn and work.
Mahek

Mahek is one of the most affable people out there. Curious, collaborative, and creative, she makes the perfect PR co-head. A talented singer and multitasker, she’s a great guide to the team. She’s detail-oriented while being very approachable. She comes up with innovative ideas for sponsorship proposals that are executed to perfection.
